Man tries to lure high school teen to his home
Yuma Police said a man tried to lure a teen into his vehicle Wednesday night. At approximately 7:20 p.m., YPD said a 14-year-old female was sitting on a bench by the main entrance to Cibola High School, 4100 W. 20 th Street, when an older man approached her and asked her for her name, phone number and if she wanted to go to his house or his car.
The girl declined his questions and when he walked back to his vehicle. She saw an adult, known to her, in the parking lot and went to their vehicle. When the man saw her go to the other vehicle, he got into his vehicle and left the parking lot.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 45-50 years old with short dark hair and a mustache. He is about 5’8″-5’10” tall, medium build wearing a blue shirt and black pants. The vehicle is described as a red or burgundy 4 door passenger car, possibly a Ford, with an Arizona license plate.
There was no physical contact between the suspect and the 14-year-old girl and no injuries reported. The victim did not know the suspect. This case is under investigation at this time.
