7th Annual Highway Clean up in honor of Captain David Irr

The 7th annual highway clean up is taking place May 6th. The clean up is in memory of Captain David Irr of Yuma Rural Metro. In 2010, Captain Irr passed away from a heart attack and was found at work deceased in his bunk. The Union United Yuma county fire association (UYCFA) adopted a mile of highway on 195 in his name and is giving the public a chance to go and help the community in his honor. His daughter Kayla Irr Mendez is in charge of the clean up and says her father was an avid believer in giving back to the community. Each year the project keeps growing and for Saturday they are hoping for a good turnout. The clean up starts at 8am on Saturday, May 6th and ends at 10am. It will be followed by a luncheon provided by UYCFA that starts at 12pm. The public is welcome to attend. No sign up necessary.
