Ag-bus burns on I-8 causing traffic jam

Ag workers are lucky to be alive after evacuating a bus that caught fire. It happened west on Interstate 8 near mile-marker 20 a little before 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. Rural Metro arrived on scene and was able to put the fire out.

” Every one is safely out of the bus. Rural Metro is cooling the fire right now. The bus is a total loss. Theres nothing left of it,” says Charlie McMurdy with Rural Metro Fire.

McMurdy says usually they’ll respond to a couple ag busses catching on fire every year.

“It could be just the fact that things are heating up and maybe the bus wasn’t equipped for that,” says McMurdy.
