Five people arrested by Border Patrol agents

U.S. Border Patrol agents seized nearly 140 pounds of marijuana and arrested six people.

Three Americans, two people from El Salvador and one Mexican were arrested during two different smuggling attempts on Saturday.

First, agents found two illegal immigrants from El Salvador in the backseat of a Chrysler PT Cruiser at a checkpoint near Three Points, Arizona near Tucson.

The driver and passenger of that car were both American.

Later in the day agents found nearly 140 pounds of weed and nearly 50 rounds of ammunition in a car driven by an American with a Mexican passenger.

All the Americans were arrested on smuggling charges and the illegal immigrants were processed.
