A new study showing teens views on the legalization of marijuana has many parents concerned; UC Davis’ Dr. Magdalena Cerda, an associate professor of emergency medicine is a co-sponsor of the study.
In it 45,000 middle school and high school students were surveyed before and after a medical or recreational marijuana law was passed. What they found was a 16 percent drop in negative views towards the drug and even a four percent increase in the use of marijuana among those teens questioned.
Dr. Cerda hopes that their findings will encourage states to fund outreach and prevention programs.
