The Desert Southwest is usually a seemingly quiet place but in just the past few days the City of Yuma has seen a spike in violence. On Monday, a young woman was shot in broad day light as she walked to her car at a local shopping center.
She was taken to the hospital and is listed to be in stable condition. On Tuesday, police responded to reports of possible gun shots; when they arrived to the scene they found a wounded man.
That victim was also taken to the hospital, but unfortunately he passed away as a result of his wounds.
