Each year, residents are asked what businesses they’d like to see come to a neighborhood near them. For years, a Sprouts Grocery Store has been on that list and until recently the organic based marketplace has steered away from the Desert Southwest.
Sprouts offers customers a variety of whole foods including grass fed beef and poultry fed only organic food. Organic foods are no stranger to our area, but in recent years the demand for healthier foods has increased making our community a viable home for shops like Sunshine Herbs and More, GNC and restaurant chains like Chipotle and Pita Pit who offer low calorie foods.
The trend comes at a time when 28% of Arizona adults and 24% of California adults are obese that’s according to The State of Obesity: Better Policies for a Healthier America released September 2016.
