Border Patrol agents find cocaine in semi-trucks
Two separate truck drivers were arrested after U.S. Border Patrol agents found cocaine hidden in the axel of the semi-trucks they were driving.
Agents say both men drove up to the Highway 86 checkpoint Friday around noon when a K-9 officer alerted the two trucks. The drivers were sent to secondary inspection where agents found 15 bundles of cocaine hidden in the rear axle of each semi-truck.
The 30 packages found weighed more than 76 pounds and could have been sold in the street for more than $900,000 according to Border Patrol agents.
Both men, who are Mexican nationals, were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration along with the semi-trucks.
