YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) will be participating in the National Prescription Take-Back Day.

For further context, the event is in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) where people can dispose of their prescription drugs.

The types of prescriptions drugs people can throw away include expired, unused, and unwanted. This is to prevent pill abuse, theft, and accidental poisoning.

Equally important, the agencies will collect tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs.

Not only that, they will also accept vaping devices and cartridges provided lithium batteries are removed.

However, they do not allow liquids, syringes and other sharps, and illegal drugs.

All in all, the event starts on Saturday, October 29 from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The drop off is located at the YCSO Foothills Substation at 13190 E. South Frontage Road.

Furthermore, this event is free and anonymous. For more information, click here.
