Sen. Kelly’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law creates jobs and closes digital divide
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Senator Mark Kelly believes that access to the internet is a necessity for people in Arizona.
Not only is it a necessity for students, small business owners, and families, but it is also a necessity for them to have access to affordable and reliable high-speed internet.
Furthermore, through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Kelly's work resulted in Arizonans seeing more high-paying jobs. That and opportunities for affordable and reliable access to-high speed internet.
One of these examples include the joint venture to construct a manufacturing facility in Gilbert. The facility will open in 2024.
Another example is that the law invested $14 million for the establishment of a permanent Affordable Connectivity Benefit program.
For further context, this program will make internet services more affordable and requires internet providers to offer a low-cost option.
In addition, the program will ensure that eligible households can get a high-speed internet plan for no more than $30 per month.
