Latin artist Daddy Yankee retires
Retirement announced after more than thirty years of Reggaeton
(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - Daddy Yankee uploaded a video on social media and YouTube announcing he will be retiring from the music industry.
The Latin artist and Reggaeton pioneer made the announcement on Saturday along with news he will be releasing his last album "Legendaddy" as part of his goodbye.
Along with his farewell, Daddy Yankee thanked his fans and told the next generation of Reggaeton artists to work with discipline and to be leaders.
Daddy Yankee stated that he has used his platform to inspire young children who are living in poverty and has made an effort to promote staying away from a life of crime.
"Legendaddy" will be released on March 24, four days after the singer announced his retirement.
