Man previously convicted of molesting a child under 18 arrested
Forty-six-year-old Carlos Zelaya was arrested by Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents after illegally trespassing the United States on Monday, according to the US. Customs and Border Protection.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. near Somerton, Ariz.
Record checks showed that Zelaya was convicted in San Francisco of annoying or molesting a child under 18 in 2000.
Zelaya’s records also show convictions for transportation and selling of narcotics or a controlled substance, for which he served three years in prison also in San Francisco in 1999.
Zelaya will be processed for immigration violations.
