Attorney General to discuss Trump Administration probe
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - United States Attorney General Merrick Garland is planning to meet with major media outlets on Monday to discuss the Trump Administration's leak investigation.
Garland is reported to be meeting with leaders from CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post for the conversation.
The meeting comes after the Times revealed that the Trump Department of Justice sought phone and email records from journalists and the data included belonging to CNN Pentagon correspondent, Barbara Starr.
The Biden Administration has said it would never use the same media surveillance tactics as Trump's Department of Justice but media representatives say they want more than a promise, and a change in policy.
Monday's meeting takes place a day after the 50th anniversary of the publication of the Pentagon Papers, which was a milestone for Freedom of the Press.
