YRMC makes major contribution to economy

It’s no secret that Yuma regional medical center makes a huge contribution to Yuma County’s economy, but just how much do they contribute. A recent study by a consulting company has found that YRMC contributes about $500 million to Yuma County. The purpose of the study was to find out the extent in which healthcare and hospital activities impact the Arizona economy. Justin Farren, the Vice President of strategy and development at YRMC gives more details on the development of the hospital. “Yuma regional medical center has been engaged in a lot of growth, a lot of new construction, a lot of new expansion, that has led to a significant amount of economic benefit, that’s maintained here in the community, said Farren.” Farren adds that they have definitely seen the biggest growth this year this year, with YRMC providing over 4,000 jobs. That includes full-time jobs as well as indirect jobs that are apart of organizations affiliated with the hospital.
