‘Rust’ crew members reach settlement with Alec Baldwin and film’s producers

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A settlement has been reached in the civil lawsuit against actor Alec Baldwin and the producers of the movie, "Rust."

Members of the film crew filed the suit alleging negligence in the fatal shooting of the movie's cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The plaintiffs also wanted compensation for emotional distress.

Terms of the settlement have not been released.

Baldwin was charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting, but was cleared of the charge while the movie's armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was released from prison after being sentenced to 18 months behind bars.

The film was released in theaters last month.
