Arizona man sentenced to 17 years for manslaughter

(KYMA, KECY) - A suspect in the Preston Lord case was sentenced to 17 years in prison Friday for multiple crimes.

William Owen Hines was originally charged with murder and kidnapping.

The judge sentenced him to 12 years in prison for manslaughter in Lord's death plus five years for an unrelated aggravated assault case, making it a total of 17 years.

Lord was attacked and beaten while leaving a Halloween party in 2023. Seven suspects, including Hines, was arrested and charged in the case.

The six other suspects are still charged with murder, and a trial date is currently set for July.
