Candidate BioUnder Treasurer Kimberly Yee's leadership, assets increased by 69 percent, up $11 billion reaching historic records. She has visited all 15 counties and created new laws on financial education. Arizona born and raised, Kimberly is the highest ranking Arizona Republican woman and first Chinese-American Republican woman elected to statewide office in US history. As Senate Republican Majority Leader, she was the second woman in this position following Sandra Day O’Connor in 1973. Treasurer Yee led a national effort divesting from Ben & Jerry's parent company Unilever for boycotting Israel, saying it was "anti-Semitic and discriminatory. "She opposed Biden's "Climate Czar" John Kerry's efforts discouraging banks from financing the energy industry. She appeared in "No on 208" commercials opposing Arizona's largest tax increase. Recognized among Roll Call's 25 Most Influential Women in State Politics, she's a founding member of Susan B. Anthony List's National Pro-Life Women's Caucus. She was an onstage speaker of the 2016 Republican National Convention and named a 2014 “Rising Star” by the Republican National Committee. An undergraduate of Pepperdine University, she also holds a master’s degree in Public Administration. She worked in the administrations of two governors and a state treasurer. Kimberly and her family are active in their church and community.
