Dick Van Dyke celebrates 100th birthday

(NBC, KYMA) - Legendary actor of stage and screen, Dick Van Dyke, has reached the century mark!

Van Dyke celebrated his 100th birthday Saturday, some six decades after launching his incredible career, and hundreds of acting credits under his belt including "Mary Poppins," "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," and his self-titled sitcom, "The Dick Van Dyke Show."

Just last year, he became the oldest winner of a Daytime Emmy, for a guest role on the soap "Days of Our Lives."

He has also won numerous other awards including a Grammy and a Tony, and received the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement award in 2012, and was a Kennedy Center honoree in 2021.

In a recent "Today" Show interview, Van Dyke said he has no intention of hanging up his hat just yet and may never retire.
