Phoenix Suns blow out Lakers in Game 5, Valley prep basketball starts CIF playoffs

PHOENIX, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - The Phoenix Suns' Devin Booker scored 18 points in the first quarter on Tuesday night and finished with a team high 30. The Suns trailed the Lakers early in Game 5 at Phoenix Suns Arena but quickly took the lead and never looked back. Phoenix blew out the defending NBA champions who were playing without Anthony Davis. The Suns rolled to a 115-85 win and take a 3-2 series lead. The Suns next travel to L.A. on Thursday for gAME 6.

Meanwhile, in the Imperial Valley, boys prep CIF divisional playoffs got underway with Holtville, Central and Calexico all notching opening round wins. Imperial and Southwest EC had their seasons come to an end.
