NBC 11 Sports: AWC women’s soccer reclaim Region I title

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Arizona Western women's soccer captured the Region I championship with a 2-1 win over Eastern Arizona. The No. 1-ranked Lady Matadors improve to 14-0-2 and will host Salt Lake Community College in the West District Final on November 7.

Meanwhile, Yuma High School celebrated its athletic history, inducting six individuals, one team and four community partners into its 15th Athletic Hall of Fame class. Among those honored were longtime coach Jackie Bruno and former four-sport standout Lisa Stratton, along with the 1939-40 state championship boys tennis team.
