NBC 11 Sports: Jon Self retires from football, Holtville’s Kamryn Walker eclipses 1,000 career points

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - As the holiday season picks up, the local sports action slows down - but amazing accomplishments and warm sendoffs keeps the wagon going.

From an incredible feat on the hardwood for Kamryn Walker who scored her 1,000th career point Wednesday, to Jon Self retiring from coaching Brawley football, it was still quite a week.

From high school to college, the San Diego State Aztecs are preparing for their appearance in the EasyPost Hawai'i Bowl. The 7-5 Aztecs taking the field with Middle Tennessee State, looking for their third straight Bowl win.

On a more somber note, the Aztec family mourns the loss of former running back and Super Bowl champion, Ronnie Hillman, who passed away at the age of 31.
