NBC 11 Sports: Rams fall in season finale to Centurions

The Antelope volleyball team end the regular season on three game losing streak

WELLTON, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - After starting the season 7-0, the Antelope Rams limped into the home and season finale against Cicero Prep on a two game losing streak and 3-4 in the past seven games. The Rams watched their rank in class 1A drop from 14th to 21st. Antelope hoped a strong showing versus #4 ranked Cicero Prep could propel them back into the top 16.

That didn't happen as the Centurions rolled past the Rams winning in straight sets, 25-9, 25-9 and 25-10. The loss is the Rams third in a row to end the regular season. Leading the way for Antelope was senior Jimena Arana with three kills, Yareli Manriquez added two of her own. Jocelyn Guillen pitched in with six digs.

The Rams will now play Friday in the state super regionals.

The Antelope JV team won in straight sets and ended the season undefeated.
