NBC 11 Sports: Tigers make it seven straight!

The Imperial Volleyball team extends their winning streak to seven Monday at San luis

SAN LUIS, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - On Monday night the Imperial Tigers volleyball team extended their winning streak to seven with a win in straight sets over San Luis. On Tuesday the Tigers had that streak snapped as they began Imperial Valley League play in Holtville, falling to the Vikings in four sets.

The Antelope Rams also kept up their winnings ways, battling back after dropping the first two sets to win 3-2 against Desert Heights Prep. Jocelyn Guillen led the Rams attack with 10 kills. Marissa Jimenez had six aces in eight serves in the fifth and deciding set. Senior Abi Amador had five straight points and two aces. Antelope improves to 7-0 on the season and next will host North Phoenix Prep on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.

In prep golf on Monday, the Gila Ridge boys golf team defeated San Luis at the Cocopah Golf Resort. The hawks win with a team score of 166, San Luis finished with a 234. Hawk's senior John McMahen won medalist shooting a 36. Freshman Trent Kavorski came in second with a 40 and senior Jack Sternizke and junior Nathanial Golding shot 45's. Rigoberto Hernandez led the way for San Luis with a 52.

In girls action, Gila Ridge topped San Luis 236 to 306, the Hawk's Emma Martinez was medalist shooting a 42.
