NBC 11 Sports: Cota new Kofa head football coach

Kofa's recommendation of Pablo Cota for new head football coach is approved by YUHSD governing board

YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - The Kofa Kings football have a new football coach in Pablo Cota. The Kings started the 2022 season without an official head coach after the school parted ways with Alfonzo Brown for personnel reasons about a month ago. Brown was hired as head coach in mid-April and took over for Karl Pope.

Cota was recommended by Kofa to replace Brown but needed the YUHSD governing board to approve the recommendation. The board didn't meet until September 14th which meant the Kings didn't have an "official" head coach for the first two games of the season. Cota was still classified an an assistant coach but did don the head coaching headset for the Kings first two games.
