Central baseball tops Palo Verde

Spartans early scoring paves the way for the win

EL CENTRO, Calif., (KYMA, KECY) - Early scoring momentum helped the Central Spartans secure what would become a 12-8 win on Tuesday night.

The Spartans dialed up 10 runs in the 1st 4 innings to take the 10-2 lead.

The Yellow Jackets would chip away at the huge deficit the rest of the way, giving Central starting pitcher Jordan Reed fits for much of the night.

But the early barrage of runs scored would prove to the cushion Central needed to hold off Palo Verde in the end.

Both teams seek to finish their respective seasons on a strong note for the next couple of weeks.
