FIFA president appears to usher President Trump away as Spain lifts trophy

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBS, KYMA) - FIFA President Gianni Infantino appeared to usher U.S. President Donald Trump away as a victorious Spain team lifted the World Cup trophy Sunday.

Footage captured shows the U.S. leader clapping next to the world champions as they were preparing to lift the trophy.

Infantino could be seen running across the stage and dragging President Trump by the arm, in an apparent attempt to remove him from the celebrations.

Spain triumphed over Argentina at New York New Jersey Stadium, with a 106th minute goal from striker Ferran Torres handing the European side the victory.
