(KYMA, KECY) - As if the Los Angeles Dodgers needed to add anymore "super hero" power, the kings of the National League West have added "Thor" to their rotation.
Sources tell ESPN Syndergaard and L.A. agreed on a one-year contract, as the 30-year-old right hander looks for a mid-career spark in his arm.
Syndergaard spent the 2022 season on two squads, starting 15 games to start the year with the Angels before being shipped off to the Philadelphia Phillies at the trade deadline. He threw 134â…” innings between the teams which was his highest figure since 2019, posting a 3.94 ERA.
Although that may be considered a solid return from Tommy John Surgery just two years earlier, it's far from Syndergaard's peak when he was a New York Met. There, he looked like a rising star after surging onto the scene in 2015 as a rookie and pitching in the World Series, followed by an All-Star season.
Now Syndergaard is expected to join a Dodgers rotation that includes All-Stars Julio UrÃas, Clayton Kershaw and Tony Gonsolin.
