Holtville softball tops Central

Lady Vikings atop the IVL leader board

HOLTVILLE, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Holtville softball is playing well at the right time.

The Lady Vikings are coming off a surprise 5-0 victory over the Brawley Wildcats, setting up a match-up for the top spot in the Imperial Valley League standings.

Behind the pitching of Kalli Strahm and some key plays with their bats, the Lady Vikes would take the Friday night victory over the Central Lady Spartans by the score of 6-3.

Strahm pitched 7 complete innings, giving up 3 runs off of 5 hits with 3 strikeouts.

Offensively, Kamryn Walker was clutch, knocking in 2 RBI's of her only hit of the evening.

Meanwhile, Kalli Strahm, Anneliese Gutierrez and Brooke Strahm all scored a run each in the win.

The victory over Central gives the Lady Vikings sole possession of 1st place in the IVL, with only 2 weeks remaining in the regular season.
