President Biden approves State of Emergency for California
Allows federal resources to aid firefighting, recovery efforts
WASHINGTON, D.C. (KYMA, KECY/NBC) - As a result of the Caldor Fire, President Joe Biden has approved an emergency declaration in California.
Declaring a State of Emergency allows the federal government to ship resources to the Golden State; in this case, financial aid related to firefighting and recovery efforts against the Caldor Fire.

The President's actions also authorize the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate all disaster relief efforts under Title V of the Stafford Act.
After a series of wildfires, the Caldor Fire caught blaze on Saturday, August 14.
Since igniting, officials say it has burned 207,931 acres, and is only 23% contained.
