Endangered giant otter triplets born at Chester Zoo in the U.K.

CHESTER, U.K. (CBS, KYMA) - Chester Zoo announced the birth of not one but three giant otters, marking "a rare boost for one of the world’s most endangered species," conservationists said.

The triplet pups, two males and one female, still to be named, were born on February 9 to first-time parents Bonita and Manu, the zoo said.

Fewer than 5,000 giant otters are believed to exist in the wild across South America, according to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Video shows the adorable family in their habitat, and the footage was captured by a den camera.
