Firefighters in Italy borrow raft to save sheepdog

MONTAQUILA, Italy (CBS, KYMA) - Firefighters rescued a nearly 100-pound Abruzzese sheepdog that became stuck near a dam and initially refused to cooperate.

Footage shows crews working to retrieve the stranded dog, named Nebbia.

Because Nebbia would not move, a rafting team that was nearby for training used an inflatable boat to help firefighters reach him, news outlets reported.

The dog was eventually reunited with his owners unharmed.

In a post on X, the firefighters nicknamed the unexpectedly difficult rescue "Operation 'Convincing Nebbia'"
