Police officer in Australia returns abandoned turtle back into the ocean

(CBS, KYMA) - Western Australia Police officers released a captured sea turtle back into the ocean after it was found abandoned at a suburban home near Karratha.

Footage captured shows an officer releasing the animal into the water at Back Beach in Mulataga at about 4 pm on Saturday, where it swam away injury free.

"Officers released it at Karratha Back Beach, where it returned to the ocean without injury," according to a post on X.

The turtle was found abandoned in the front yard of a Millars Well home.
