Texas man accused of stalking and harassing Caitlin Clark pleads guilty

INDIANAPOLIS (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A Texas man accused of stalking and harassing WNBA player Caitlin Clark pleaded guilty to charges in Indianapolis Monday.

Michael Lewis was arrested on charges in January and went back and forth with the judge during Monday's hearing.

Lewis was charged with stalking and harassment after sending Clark more than 800 messages, with some of those messages were sexually explicit messages on social media.

Lewis will serve about a year and a half in jail due to time served after his arrest in January. He has been held in an adult detention center since his arrest.

In addition to his prison sentence, the judge ordered Lewis to not have access to the internet and she also recommended mental health treatment for him.

An attorney in court said that Clark was aware of the plea deal and approved of it.
