Luigi Mangione requests access to use laptop for legal purposes

NEW YORK (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Luigi Mangione is requesting permission "to use a laptop while in federal custody" for legal purposes.

In a court filing late Monday, Mangione's lawyer, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, proposed he has access to a laptop in order to view a vast amount of documents, videos and other materials relating to his case.

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office did not immediately respond.

If he were to receive a laptop, he would be unable to connect to the internet, run video games or stream movies and shows, according to his lawyer's filing.

Otherwise, Mangione will have to review over 15,000 pages of documents and thousands of hours of videos during visiting hours with his lawyers.
