Yuma man sentenced to 10 years following child molestation case
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma man who pleaded guilty to child molestation was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison.
37-year-old Matthew Lillie took a plea deal with the state last month, where he also pleaded guilty to attempted sexual contact with a minor.
The abuse happened between 2019 and 2023.
As part of his plea deal, Lillie will serve a term of lifetime probation upon his release and must register as a sex offender.
He will receive credit for 513 days served prior to sentencing.
One of the victims spoke out at the sentencing, saying in part that she forgives Lillie for his actions and hopes he is able to use this time to better himself.
