Second man involved in Foothills home invasion robbery pleads guilty
Strangfeld takes state's plea agreement, will face time behind bars
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The second of three men accused of committing a home invasion robbery in the Yuma Foothills has pled guilty and will soon face time behind bars.
21-year-old Christian Strangfeld was the third and final suspect arrested from the home invasion in June 2021 where he, along with James Brazil and Korey Gallagher, broke into a woman's home, displayed weapons and tied the victim up until she turned over some valuables.
Strangfeld was originally charged with six felony counts, including armed robbery, criminal trespassing, and aggravated assault.
Thursday in court, Strangfeld pled guilty to two separate charges.
The first being aggravated assault related to the home invasion. The second charge was third-degree burglary in a separate incident three days later.
Within the plea agreement from the state, Strangfeld agreed to serving both crimes concurrently (at the same time) under the presumptive prison sentence of 7.5 years behind bars, while also paying restitution to the victim.
All other counts were dismissed.
About a week after the alleged home invasion, YCSO tracked down the other two suspects, Brazil and Gallagher, and deputies say they served search warrants at both men's homes. Sheriffs found both the stolen property and the weapons used in the holdup.
Meanwhile, Strangfeld was arrested days later after committing another act of burglary with a different accomplice.
Gallagher, one of the men in the home invasion, was just sentenced to the same amount of time behind bars last month after pleading guilty, as well.
Strangfeld will be back in court for his sentencing in May.
