YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Four Marines from Yuma were accused of damaging a ride at the San Diego Zoo and were formally charged on Tuesday.

The locals were charged with felony vandalism for rocking a gondola ride at the Zoo's Skyfari, causing hundreds of visitors to be stuck in the air.

Those in the gondolas were rescued after about two hours.

Prosecutors say the damages totaled over $400 which could land the Marines with three years in custody.
