USPS rolls out Forever Stamp celebrating Southern California’s lowrider culture

SAN PEDRO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - The United States Postal Service (USPS) is rolling out a Forever Stamp celebrating Southern California lowrider culture.

The stamps, in sheets of 15, highlight five lowrider models. Among them is a 1964 Chevy Impala named "The Golden Rose." It was named for Rosario Onorato, or Rosie, who built the car with his sons.

The brothers say their father didn't live to see "The Golden Rose" on a stamp, but they're sure he would be proud.

"We're honored to be chosen to be one of the five cars on the U.S. Postal Stamp and so many beautiful lowriders out there throughout the whole world, and to be one of the cars is a very awesome feeling," said Anthony Onorato, Onorato's son.

The stamps are on sale now. To purchase the stamps, click here.
