UPDATE: Break-in at AutoZone in Yuma, suspects identified

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department confirmed two suspects broke into the AutoZone store near Magnolia Ave. and 8th St. late Thursday night.

A press release from YPD says officers responded to a burglary at AutoZone at about 11 p.m., where a man broke a window and set off an alarm.

The suspect was then seen leaving the store with several boxes and went into a Ford Explorer.

Officers stopped the vehicle on W. 7th Street when the suspect escaped on foot but both the driver and passenger were arrested.

No word on what exactly they tried to steal from the store, but at least one of the windows was damaged.

There was heavy police presence when we arrived. There was a vehicle being towed but police could not confirm if it belonged to either suspect.

The suspects have been identified as 42-year-old Patrick Valdez and 20-year-old Angel Delgadillo.

No injuries have been reported on this case.

This is a developing story. We will provide more details as they become available.
