After Israel attacks, sidelined Palestinian issue reemerges
TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Three deadly attacks in Israel in a week are raising doubts over Israel’s approach to its conflict with the Palestinians. Israel has for years sought to sideline the issue and focus instead on other regional priorities.
The attacks by Palestinians, including the most recent one on Tuesday night, have killed 11 people.
It's the deadliest spate Israel has seen in years. Peace talks have become a distant memory and a feasible solution to the conflict seems unimaginable.
But now, Israel faces the possibility of another cycle of violence and the Palestinian issue is once again clawing its way back to the fore and exposing the weaknesses of Israel's approach.
