Man arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor

A Yuma man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly sexually assaulting a minor in 2018. The Yuma Police Department ( YPD ) said he was arrested after DNA samples came up as a match.

According to YPD , the 16-year-old victim did not know the 23-year-old suspect.

The 23-year-old is facing two felony charges, including sexual conduct with a minor.

The suspect will make his initial appearance in Yuma Justice Court Wednesday afternoon. He has not yet been formally charged.
