Suspect arrested in murder of Mexican journalist

Police in San Luis, Sonora said that the man accused of shooting a Mexican journalist to death at his own home is now behind bars.

According to La Cronica, the suspect, idenfitied as “Omar N.”, works for the San Luis, Mexico city council. Police said the suspect believed his wife was having extramarital relationships with journalist Santiago Barroso.

Barroso was shot at his home in San Luis, Mexico last week.

The suspect was arrested Thursday on homicide charges. He will be in court on Friday. He could face up to 50 years behind bars if he’s convicted.
