39th annual Quechan Nation Powwow celebrations wrap-up

The Quechan Nation held their 39th annual powwow over the weekend at the San Pasqual Valley football field.

The festival kicked off on Friday, March 8 at 7:00 PM and wrapped up on Sunday, March 10.

The unique food, colorful attire, and vibrant music filled the stadium attracting hundreds of families across the desert southwest.

This year’s theme was “Honoring the past as we prepare for the future”, emphasizing on what this Native American tribe has gone through in their centuries-old history.

The Quechan have always been linked to the Colorado River.

This is the 39th year the Quechan Nation, along with the Sacred Hearts Native Society, has hosted this event for the community.
