Local car club hosts ‘Trunk or Treat’ event

The eighth annual Trunk or Treat, hosted by the Drifters Car Club, is giving out more than candy this year. The fundraiser will raise money for scholarships benefiting young car enthusiasts as well as local charities and businesses.

The event will also have classic cars showcased and decorated with Halloween spirit, along with raffles and vendors.

Vice President of the Drifters Car Club Carlos Caro hopes the event will spark an interest in the auto industry in the younger generation. “We hope that by showing them these cars, that they become a little more interested. There’s a lot of jobs out there and the hobby is really strong right now,” said Caro.

Trunk or Treat takes place Friday at 7 p.m. at the Food 4 Less parking lot in El Centro.
