Strange light appears in skies after SpaceX launches Falcon 9 rocket

A mysterious flash of light appeared in the skies of Yuma County and Imperial County following the launching of a Falcon 9 rocket around 6:30 p.m. by SpaceX at the Vanderberg Air Force Base Friday night.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the flash of light was from the rocket launch, as SpaceX has the event livestream on Facebook.

The launch had been announced on SpaceArchive.info.
