Governor Brown declares state of emergency in Los Angeles County due to fires
Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. issued a state of emergency in Los Angeles County due to the Creek and Rye fires Tuesday.
The fires have destroyed homes and continue to threaten thousands of homes raising the demand for evacuation for more than a thousand residents.
Extreme weather conditions including strong winds have increased the speed of the fires causing the threat of critical infrastructure and closure of roadways.
The Federal Management Agency has allowed the Fire Management Assistance Grants to aid in the management of the Creek and Rye fires.
Governor Brown had issued an emergency proclamation due to the effects at Ventura County earlier Tuesday.
