Topic of the Day: Sessions Testimony

Not long after the hearing with former Federal Bureau Investigation Director James Comey was over the Senate Intelligence Committee received word that the Attorney General would be testifying before them. On Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions sat before the committee and answered questions on several issues.
Primarily, the committee wanted to know about General Sessions ties to possible collusion from the Russian government during the 2016 presidential campaign. Attorney General Sessions answered senators questions to the best of his ability; repeatedly informing the committee that he didn’t remember or recall possible meetings with Russian ambassadors.
With regards to the Comey hearing, General Sessions offered a conflicting account to meetings Comey reported last week. In one instance, Comey spoke about a meeting with the president where he asked General Sessions not to leave and was ignored. Sessions however says that a conversation ensued after the question but couldn’t discuss what was said.
