AWC Foundation to hold check presentation ceremony this week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Western College (AWC) Foundation is holding a check presentation ceremony this Thursday.

AWC says the ceremony is taking place at the college's Frances Morris Board Room at 11:00 a.m., and says they are able to "establish a second endowment to further support the students" at the campus through the donation from the Xi Zeta Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

AWC says the chapter goes out in the community to raise awareness on the following topics:

  • Key issues
  • Promoting voter registration and mobilization
  • Building relationships with elected officials
  • Encouraging qualified women and minorities to pursue community leadership positions

According to AWC, Anne Booth, wife of Dennis Booth, a 2024 AWC Hall of Fame inductee and a District Governing Board member, will represent the chapter during the ceremony.
