YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Good news for local college students in Yuma as Arizona Western College is now offering over 130 college degrees through Arizona State University.
AWC celebrates the opening of ASU Local bringing another option where students can earn their college degree.
“Taking responsibility on the health of our fundamental health of our communities and that’s what it means to us we’re always questioning how we better serve our communities and we felt bringing 130 majors to the Yuma community no matter what interests that students at AWC had we were able to meet that need,” said Executive Vice President of the Learning Enterprise at Arizona State University, Maria Anguiano.
ASU Local is a hybrid experience so students can get an education online while still having that in-person interaction without having to leave Yuma.
“You can create the world you want to see you can create the reality for yourself and the way you do that is through education and our program is just not getting that degree but it’s really finding your purpose-driven path and being a change-maker in your community,” said Anguiano.
AWC also offers college programs from the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University.
