Tennessee congressman hosts 15-minute Christmas party on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON (CBS, KYMA) - Congressman Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) raised a glass of soda to toast his colleagues on Capitol Hill at his annual 15-minute Christmas party, at which he famously serves Mountain Dew and crackers for a very brief window.

The congressman was joined by lawmakers, including Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), Christian singer Gary Chapman, and hordes of Capitol staffers, according to reports.

Video filmed by political strategist Jonathan Bridges, who marveled at the "huge turnout," according to a post on X.

Burchett first threw the party in 2022 and has continued the tradition since.
